Hey everyone, my spoiler motor recently took a poop on me so I had to get a used one off of ebay. Before I installed the used motor I decided to take it apart and clean it as well as take some pictures. I highly recommend you do this if you are bored some Sunday. This used motor I got was extremely dirty inside and was very easy to clean and I'm sure by cleaning it I added years to its life. Take it for what it's worth. I at least got some good pictures for you to look at. Enjoy.
Make sure to clean all the parts well. Old grease and dirt can build up quite a bit.
If any of the parts of the spoiler seize, you will end up blowing fuses and / or ruining the motor.
It's really importand to clean out the cable guides that the spoiler is connected to.
Clean the motor parts with a good electrical cleaner. There are electric motor cleaners in spray cans that work great. Any RC shop should have that in stock.
One final note, I really recommend doing this preventive maintenence because if I did this when my motor was just starting to give me problems I probably would have caught the broken spring and would have only needed to replace that.
Also, be sure to handle the plastic contact piece that goes on the top of the motor with care. If you drop it and the plastic breaks or something else happens to it you'll be up sh@t creek without a paddle. Just be careful and you'll be fine. My motor runs very smooth by the way.
DO THIS BEFORE YOUR SPOILER MOTOR STARTS TO GO BAD.
ALSO, BE SURE THAT THE THREE TABS THAT CONNECT THE MOTOR TO THE GEAR HOUSING ARE TIGHT AND THERE IS NO PLAY WHEN YOU PULL ON THE MOTOR.

The above is great preventive maintenance. If you're haveing problems with your spoiler working, you may need to look into other items such as the speed activation, fuses, and other electrical problems. I recommend this procedure for ANY corrado that hasn't had it done yet.
