Here is a quick guide for replacing the Auxiliary Electric Water Pump in a VR6

Note: REALLY EASY!

Step 1.
Remove plastic shroud over coilpack

Step 2.
Unplug the coil pack connection. Leave the spark plug wires connected. Remove the coilpack by loosening the four 4mm allen bolts. Lift coilpack out of the way.

Step 3.
Unplug connection on the top of the auxiliary water pump. Use a pair of pliers to loosen the hose clamps on the two coolant lines connected to the pump. Now you can remove the pump and throw it at something. You know you want to, because it almost caused your car to overheat!

Some coolant will drain out. Not much more then the reservoir holds though. Might be hot.

Step 4.
Install new pump! make sure the coolant lines are on good and clamped. Replace the coilpack and shroud.

Step 5.
Refill lost coolant and start the car. Run it up to temps and make sure there are no leaks.
